Kaiser – Willys concepts

I received a nice email from Terry yesterday.  Terry has graciously sent me a few photos of a couple of Willys Concepts cars to share with everyone here.

The first is a photo of a Willy Station wagon concept, which never came to be, as Kaiser/Willys stopped production of cars in the United States in 1955.  They continued producing Jeeps in the United States, Kaiser Carabellas in Argentina, and Willys cars in Brazil.

Terry is the lucky owner of this 3/8 scale concept model and is researching and trying to find additional information on it and other Willys concept models that may be out there.  If you have information to share, please contact me and I’ll pass the information on to Terry, or put the two of you in touch with each other.

The next photo shows a mock of up a Willys Aero sedan/coupe.  Notice the Kaiser Darrin front end, and the interesting styling of the front fenders around the wheel openings.  It is not clear if this was an accepted design, or a proposal, but we know that Kaiser/Willys stopped U.S. production before this could have made it to market had it been approved.

Note, in the lower right, the nice photo of the Willys station wagon concept model.

Thanks Terry for sharing.
